Hi People, we are very excited to announce another US party which will be the day after the Seattle WA party. This time we’ll be trekking to Los Angeles, California.
The line-up for September 28th @ The Echo is Star Slinger, Jim-E Stack & Silky Johnson + special guests yet TBC. For advance tickets CLICK HERE
If you haven’t heard Jim-E Stack or Silky Johnson yet, listen below to these bangers. We are truly proud to have such talent onboard & with eclecticism in full effect. Jim-E Stack is one of the most inspiring house/future garage producers we’ve heard in recent years, making a lot of noise on LA’s own Body High label. Silky Johnson is also a current favourite, recently making a lot of noise in the hip-hop world. He created in our opinion the biggest track on the new ASAP MOB mixtape entitled “Thuggin Noise”. Also check his new mixtape
Slinger here… Following my tour of the US’ midwest with the wonderful LOL Boys, we’ve decided to do a remix swap. here’s my mix of their track Changes which came out on the Changes EP the other week!
Check their amazing video to the original below too!
JET JAM, aka the international club night curated by Star Slinger & Friends… is coming to Seattle to host a showcase @ Decibel Festival. This time Slinger has invited his friends from the west coast, SHLOHMO & BATHS.
Star Slinger here with another monthly update to say what audible treats I’m digging this month.
MELE – BEAMER (SINGLE)
The great thing about Mele’s music is that for me it adds a touch of Personality unlike a lot of producers in this field. From Liverpool, Mele took inspiration in this joint from Wigan-Pier’s infamous DONK genre which is kind of hilarious. Of course at first one would sense some irony and sense of humor, but there’s no doubt that Mele was close to the source of that music in Merseyside, and how sick & at home it sounds in the catharsis of Beamer. DONK IT OUT, its out now on Sinden’s GRIZZLY label with a vocal version from UK Grime artist KANO. Also click the vid below the track to hear Mele and Kano talk about the track & said DONK influence.
LOL BOYS – CHANGES (EP)
As with most LOL Boys releases, this is super infectious & it’ll leave you wanting more and more from the exciting duo. I’ve been playing their Pop Em joint from the Bubbles LP for some time when I DJ. Anyway yeah, this is a lot less banging, but I’ll definitely be playing the shit out of it at home and on my travels. Buy their Changes EP out now on Shlohmo manager Leeor Brown’s Friends Of Friends label. ALSO catch them on tour with me in some midwestern cities in the US shortly. Post on that soon.
BONDAX – I GOT THAT (SINGLE)
As championed by myself, Annie Mac, Mary Anne Hobbes, Pete Tong & far far more people, Bondax – the yung Jet Jam residents alongside myself and Blacksmif have churned out their poppiest joint yet. However, this track has so much class in the way it moves & is sure to get any setting gleaming good vibes. The stabs and percussion are so infectious, I can see Bondax becoming top 40 producers in no time.
Vibes aplenty, I Got That has a dope B-Side too, coming soon on their own label JUST US RECORDINGS.
Hope you enjoy this month’s selections, have a great fucking week/weekend & see u next time.
Slinger here, bringing you a short post of two tracks I’ve been loving lately. I’m writing from a hotel room in the city of Madrid, where I’ll be playing Dia De La Musica on Saturday! Hope you enjoy these tracks as much as I have been doing.
PARA ONE – EVERY LITTLE THING (FEAT. IRFANE & TEKI LATEX)
Amazing collaboration between Para One, Irfane & JET JAM favourite & Sound Pellegrino boss Teki Latex. Part of Para One’s killer new album “PASSION” which is out now on Marble!
KANYE WEST – MERCY (RL GRIME & SALVA REMIX)
Crazy remix by RL Grime & Salva from my pal Shlohmo’s WEDIDIT crew, of Mercy & without the marmite of the Big Sean (or any of the) verses.
New tune coming soon on our residents’ BONDAX’ new label “Just Us Recordings” is huuuuuge! Already getting plays from the UK Faithful, Annie Mac & Pete Tong respectively on their BBC Radio 1 shows. Its obvious this is going to be a huge debut track for Just Us! Like Bondax, Karma Kid is a fresh faced 17 year old producer with youth & taste on his side, but from Derby, UK. Get to know the kid with “Its Always” & expect Star Slinger & Bondax Remixes too.
